Stacy Alexander
This series of work is concerned with the artist's approach to art's ability to encompass current events and emerging society as aided by the fields of physical science, psychology, philosophy, religion, music, sexual politics, color theory and myth and how these things enables it to weave meaningful images out of the individual strands of knowledge from other, more restrictively focused disciplines.
Stacy Alexander is a unique American contemporary visual artist and writer whose work examines a broad range of aptitudes. Based primarily in the Pacific Northwest, she most recently documented the complete history of the Documenta in Kassel, Germany and is currently working on two performance art pieces that deal with issues of homelessness and the urban connection, and domestic violence.
Ms. Alexander received her art training at the Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Museum School, The University of Houston and through private instruction. She holds accredited degrees in psychology and creative writing.
