I have been making photographs since childhood. My heroes are Lee Friedlander and Jerry Uelsman. I've taken for-credit courses in photography, film and video, and architecture at MIT. In recent years, I have been obsessed with the idea that I should move into other 2-D media. To that end, I've taken non-credit courses at the Evanston Art Center in figure, oil painting, etching and relief, and litho. I am also very interested in computer manipulations and mixed media. My day job is in drug chemistry, which is kind of craft-like in that it involves skilled handwork and judgement. But it is my goal that my work should avoid looking too much like it was created by a scientist. While I have a developed photographic style, I am still evolving in my approaches to other media. I hope you like these images.
