Craig Goodwin

I love paintings that lull the viewer into wanting to touch the canvas and interact with it. I think a design should generate some form of link between the canvas and the person standing in front of it, and that is what I try to create with each of my paintings : Art with a soul. I'm intrigued with all aspects of design and how colour, textures, depth and lighting affects how a person perceives a painting and I like to produce designs that manipulate these factors. I have lived and travelled extensively abroad and I recently returned from living and working in Australia, where my interest in design was re-ignited by Aboriginal paintings and how such simple designs can be so striking. I utilise design snippits taken from my travels in the Middle East, to the far eastern use of metallics in their paintings and design and also from everyday life.
