She placed the money on the counter. He reached for it. She stopped his hand before it touched the money. She was having second thoughts. He was looking at her concerned. "Maybe you don't want to send it," he asked her. Muscaria Hemlock took a swig from her flask. Then she wiped her lips with her handkerchief then stuck it back into her sleeve. The whole time keeping eye contact with the telegraph operator who was awaiting an answer. Finally she said resolutely, "Send it."
