Info: The following works are attributed to the DadaME Collective: codraw*.GIF corpse*.GIF poster*.GIF These images resulted from explorations of image production techniques discovered or utilized by the Dadaists and Surrealists in the early part of the century. All images with filename codraw*.GIF resulted from the collaboration of two people. One randomly drew seven lines on a sheet of paper and the other made a drawing using them as a foundation. All images with filename corpse*.GIF are Exquisite Corpse drawings. To produce these a small group assembled. One person folded a piece of paper into as many sections as there were people in the group. S/He then began a drawing in the top section of the paper, extending lines into the next section. S/He then refolded the paper so that the next person could not see what had been drawn. Another person continued the drawing based on the lines extending into the second panel. The process was repeated until everyone had drawn a section. In addition to producing images, the collective engaged in performance/provocation around the University of Maine campus. Activities included the staging of an elaborate, (relatively) formal evening of events in a single location to surprise interventions at crowded dining facilities during the lunch rush. All images with filename poster*.GIF are advertising for the evening of events.
