I'm a computer programmer for the greater NOVELL. I work on the UNIXware Desktop GUI.
I've always been interested in art in one form or another. I took art in high school like everyone else, but I've never had any formal training. I've tried expressing myself thru various disciplines such as woodworking, photography and stained glass. I spent about five years doing stained glass. Most of my work in stained glass dealt with an oriental theme - faces and landscapes.
About 6 months ago I got up the nerve to walk into an art store (Peril Paint in NJ). I've always been intimidated by art stores because I didn't know anything about fine art and I didn't know the correct questions to ask. I proceeded to buy canvas, colored pencils, paint brushes, acrylics, gouache and sketching paper. I was determined to figure out this art thing. Well anyway, one thing lead to another and I ended up painting on glass and transferring the acrylic or gouache to canvas or watercolor paper. I believe this process is called monotyping and I really like the results. I've also taken some of these images and manipulated them using Adobe Photoshop.
