Elaine Ostroot was born in Chicago and has lived in several large cities throughout the United States. She began her art career as a sculptor and pastelist, then turned to oil as her medium of expression. Her studio is now located in the beautiful Ozark mountain community of Holiday Island, Arkansas.
Primarily self-taught, Elaine was in demand as a portrait painter for over 20 years. After enjoying success with large scale florals and landscapes, she is now focusing on painting the people, animals and places she loves at home.
She has recently donated two series of paintings, "A Missionary Journey In Africa" and "A Missionary Journey in Mexico and Central America", to Agora Ministries of Minneapolis. Latest series, "People of Faith" is now in the possesion of First Christian Church of Eueka Springs, Arkansas.
