We exist in the great and infinite sea of immediate experience. Accessible to all; consciousness. We fashion images and forge myths in order to lend a sense of order to a seeming chaos. We create stories and images to live by. Yet many of us often lead lives within the controlled shadows of the rational and limited, as well as, the irrationally historical, within the reflected exercises of consciousness, barely aware that one is conscious or free, at all. There is a tendency to grind the plate glass of experience into multiple shards that are dangerously and oppressively, mistaken as wholes. When this occurs, when we start taking the structures of the world as givens, our lives begin to be lived for us within these bounds rather than by us outside them.
